Ask any young Malaysian about sports today and the answer will likely go beyond football or badminton – you'll hear MLBB, DOTA 2, and Valorant just as often. Esports has grown into a multi-billion-ringgit global industry, and Malaysia is one of the most active players in the Southeast Asian scene. liveking88 recognises this trend and has built a full-featured esports betting platform for Malaysian gamers and esports fans.
Unlike traditional sports, esports takes place almost every day of the year across multiple platforms — meaning there's always a betting opportunity at liveking88 – whether you want to back a Malaysian team in MPL Malaysia, follow the drama of The International DOTA 2, or catch the intense action of a CS2 Major.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) holds a special place in Malaysian hearts. MPL Malaysia is the country's top professional league, and every season delivers drama that rivals any football league in the world. Teams like Team Flash, RSG Malaysia, ECHO, and others compete fiercely for a spot at the M-Series World Championship.
At liveking88, MPL Malaysia matches rank among the most heavily bet on. Local fans have a genuine understanding of the competing teams and players — they know each roster's playstyle, head-to-head records, and weaknesses. That knowledge can be put to good use when placing more informed bets, compared to wagering on a game you're less familiar with.
One of the exciting aspects of betting on e-sports at liveking88 is the variety of markets on offer. It's not just about who wins:
Match Winner – The simplest option. Pick the team you think will win the entire match (best of 3 or best of 5).
Map Handicap – Gives the underdog a head start. Example: Team Flash -1.5 means you win only if Flash wins the match 2-0.
Total Maps – Predict whether the match will end in 2 or 3 maps. This market is hugely popular in DOTA 2 and MLBB.
First Blood / First Tower – Bet on which team draws first blood or destroys the first tower. Requires in-depth knowledge of each team's early-game playstyle.
Specific Map Winner – Bet on the winner of the first, second, or third map individually. Gives you more opportunities within a single match.
E-sports requires a slightly different approach compared to traditional sports betting. Here are some useful insights from the player community liveking88:
Follow the Latest Roster – Unlike football, where player movements mid-season are rare, e-sports can see frequent roster changes. A key player joining or leaving can significantly impact a team's performance.
Keep Track of Patch Updates – In MLBB, DOTA 2, and most other esports titles, game patches are released regularly and can drastically shift the balance of power. A weak team can become a strong contender after a single patch, and vice versa.
Make the Most of liveking88 In-Play Betting – During a live match, odds shift in real time as the game unfolds. If your favourite team is performing well but the odds are still favourable early in the match, that's your window to get in.
